Itinerary

Here is the WordCamp Ogijima itinerary. There might be some changes on details, but the outline is fixed. Read this to plan your trip schedule!

Getting to the Ogi island.

To get to the island, we get on a ferry called Meon, bound for Ogijima and Megijima. The port is called Sunport Takamatsu, and it’s 5 minutes walk from the JR Takamatsu St., or 45 minutes bus ride from the Takamatsu airport.

We charter two morning ferries, which depart the port at 9:00 and 10:30, and are free of charge. Please be near the pier 30 minutes earlier to check-in.

We recommend getting on the 9 o’clock ferry to enjoy walking around the island before the event starts. 10:30 ferry is for those who travel from far. There are non-chartered regular service ferries that leave Takamatsu on 8:00 and 10:00, but they will be very crowded with tourists, and they cost 510 yen.

Enjoy the 35 minutes ferry on the beautiful Setouchi Inland Sea 🙂

Sessions

The main part of the event starts around 11:15 and ends at 16:30. Sessions and speakers are to be announced soon. During the day, lunch, beverages, snacks will be provided.

Kids

We prepare a kids space in a house 1 minute from the venue. There will be childcare professionals, volunteer staffs, toys, books, and coloring books. We’ll have hot water and nursing room.

When to go back home?

There are several options according to your circumstances. Choose what time you go back from the event.

Plan A, the first option is to go home right after the conference. The last ferry from the island at 17:00 and arrives at the main land at 17:40. It costs 510 yen. There will be an after-party at a restaurant close to the Takamatsu port and station. If you attend the Takamatsu after-party, you’ll need session ticket and Takamatsu after-party ticket.

Secondly, plan B is to attend the BBQ after party and then go back to the Ogi port. After the conference, you’ll walk around 30 minutes to the lighthouse, eat, drink, talk, make friends, and then walk back to the Ogi port. Then, stay at an inn on the island, or go to Megi island or Takamatsu by a Boat Taxi. It’s for those who want to attend the BBQ but avoid staying in a tent. The boat taxi seats are limited. You’ll need session ticket and BBQ ticket.

Lastly, the plan C. BBQ, camping, and breakfast. Tents and blankets will be provided, or you can bring yours. You’ll need session ticket, BBQ ticket, and Camping ticket.
